Submit a high-resolution photo of your pet, choose your preferred size and style, and I go to the drawing board. 50% is due upfront, and 50% is due when your furb art has been delivered. :)
I create a drawing of your pet(s), typically done in charcoal and pencil. Your custom art, official Donor Card, and a special gift will be mailed to you, or you may pick them up. Framing assistance available.
50% of funds are donated to local or national, highly-rated rescues, undercover welfare agencies, wildlife protection, and ethical science programs. Or you may choose an animal charity that's close to your heart.
We've raised $860! I hope to raise $1,000 or more for animal charities in 2017 through proceeds or direct donations. Donors receive a sketch of their furry friends and special gift, thousands of animals will be saved with 50% of proceeds going to charity, and together we will have made a real impact in the fight against cruelty and ignorance.
Sketches commissioned by generous and kind-hearted donors who have helped change animal lives across the globe.
When we watch movies, we can easily identify the good guy and the bad guy. And in our own lives, most of us assume we're the good guy. "It's someone else who is doing the bad out there." But most of the bad in the world comes from a lot of people thinking "its not me" or "one person doesn't hurt". We're often blinded by our own individual justifications and reasoning, and by our need for low resistance. We don't recognize how our everyday actions can change the course of existence, and how our choice to turn away contributes to the destruction of our ecosystem and to hurting animals... and we often don't see it until its too late. One day, upon this realization, I asked myself: Am I the bad guy or the good guy? Am I the one who does nothing? Will I be proud of the way I lived and know I was on the side of good? When will I choose to see the truth and take action? And those questions changed everything... I could no longer live in a state of cognitive dissonance; I knew I had to see the world for what it is and get off my butt and do something. If ONE person can change history forever, and one butterfly can change the direction of the wind, surely I can have an impact.
So I changed my lifestyle. But in 2015, even after a year of living vegan (despite my love of cheese), petitioning, protesting, donating, learning, advocating, and volunteering locally and overseas, I knew it still wasn't enough for me. Firstly, many of the animal organizations I work with need major financial help. Their employees and volunteers work tirelessly for little or no pay because they are strong and kind of heart. Secondly, there was still something missing in the fight to help my fellow Earthlings. I wanted to help people who care too, and get others involved in the cause in a different way. And what better way to do that than to put my drawing to good use! And Art for Animals, the not-for-profit art-for-donations organization, was born.
You're probably troubled that animals suffer, just like I am. From factory farmed animals, to those abused in fighting rings and breeding mills, animals who've been mistreated or abandoned, wildlife stolen from their families and tested on for human products or made to perform for us, or animals being killed or maimed for their body parts, it happens every moment in all parts of the world. It is truly a sad and unbelievable epidemic... but the good news is, there's hope! It's a surmountable challenge, and it requires people like you and I to make a powerful impact through projects like this. What a happy world it is when we can make a difference just by joining together to make pretty things.
